Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” will never be confused with Tennyson's "Ulysses." Though an unusual new version shows the pop hit in an entirely different light.
In a clip posted online, "Anaconda" is presented as a dramatic poem. ComedianIan Martin gives the bawdy lyrics a read-through in his best “radio voice”. The butts and the twerking are all stripped away for the video and replaced with images of gentle waves and sunsets, and a touch of piano is added for effect. Watch the clip below.
It's certainly not the first reboot of the controversial summer hit, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Postmodern Jukebox recently posted its“vintage bluegrass hoedown” attempt on the song.
A “fart remix” of "Anaconda" blew away millions following its release to YouTube in August. The clip has since been removed.
